Total 541 road traffic accidents were reported in Rescue 1122's Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 36 Districts of the Punjab during the last 24 hours, in which 07 lives were lost and 440 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant district. However, some 229 victims sustaining minor injuries were provided first on the spot.
According to the details, 228 drivers, 26 Underage Driver, 86 pedestrians and 360 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic accidents. The statistics show 105 RTAs were reported in Lahore Control Room, which affected 109 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 63 RTAs in Faisalabad with 69 victims and Multan remained at third position with 35 RTAs and 38 victims.
The details further show that total 676 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 559 males and 117 females, while age group of the victims show that 97 were under 18 year of age, 447 were between 18 and 40 year and rest of the 132 victims were reported above 40 years. According to the data, 460 motorbikes, 42 auto rickshaws, 56 motor cars, 19 vans, 5 passenger buses, 10 trucks and 64 other types of auto vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in aforesaid road traffic accidents.
