President, Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI), Muhammad Haroon Agar has stated that Pakistan can benefit from Ukraine's expertise in iron, steel, energy and heavy technical manufacturing industries as the Ukraine is one of the most technically developed country of Europe having advancement and development in technology.
He said that Ukraine can help Pakistan in education, exploration of natural resources and providing technical assistance. It is interesting to note that when Ukraine was part of Russia it helped Pakistan to develop many industries and projects like Pakistan Steel Mills, Hydro Station in Tarbela etc. Haroon Agar during visit of Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Karachi Engr M.A. Jabbar stated that opportunities exist between both countries and to further develop, strengthen bilateral relations specially in trade and commerce. It is high time to take serious measures and steps to enhance bilateral trade, exchange of business delegations, participation in exhibitions. He stated that KCCI has invited the business delegation from Ukraine's Lugansk Regional Chamber of Commerce & Industry on the occasion of KCCI's 10th International My-Karachi, Oasis of Harmony Exhibition.
At this juncture both Chambers have also agreed to sign MoU for mutual co-operation and strengthen B2B relationship between members to boost bilateral trade ties. Speaking on this occasion, Senior Vice President KCCI and President, Pakistan-Ukraine Trade and Culture Information Centre Shamim A. Firpo stated that in order to promote contacts between entrepreneurs of both countries, Pakistan-Ukraine Trade & Information Centre was created in Karachi.
He added that KCCI has also proposed to organise Ukraine Pavilion in the International Hall of My-Karachi Exhibition during proposed visit of delegation from Lugansk Regional Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Ukraine. Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Karachi Engr M.A. Jabbar during his visit to KCCI appreciated Chamber's role in promotion of bilateral trade with friendly countries. He stated that Pakistan and Ukraine attach importance to bilateral economic and commercial co-operation. The friendly relationship between two countries are fortifying with the passage of time.
He said that Ukraine holds expertise in steel, iron, metallurgy, transportation and energy, therefore, opportunities do exist between two countries for mutual co-operation. He said that Pakistani businesspersons have name and fame in the Ukrainian business circles. Pak-Ukraine Business Council is formed to create strong linkage between the business community of two countries.-PR
