PRCS-Sindh is the leading humanitarian organisation works to get better the suffering of the most vulnerable people in distress without discrimination of nationality, race, religious belief, class or political opinion.
The objective of the camp was to provide free medical facility, ie, consultation, treatment, medicine, diagnostic and referral to the people in the community. The activity was undertaken in the remote area of Karachi, where health facilities are scarce. About 2,400 people including men, women and children were provided health facility at their doorstep.
PRCS-Sindh Health Manager Dr Ali Warsi told journalists that a team of highly qualified doctors and trained medical staff has conducted medical camp on Sunday from 10am to 4pm. He said 40 percent of patients were suffering from skin infections and 30% patients reported of dehydration and gastro-enteritis. Due to summer and very hot weather people also complained about eye problems and provided medicines and eye glasses. Dr Ali said 15 patients were registered for free eye operation. Many patients also complained about tooth pain. The main cause of all these diseases and infections was malnutrition and poor hygiene.
The Provincial Secretary of PRCS-Sindh Kanwar Waseem and Sheikh Jalaluddin of Rotary Club also visited the medical camp and said that Red Crescent and Rotary Midtown Club will continue the series of free medical camps for poor and needy people in remote areas.-PR
