Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Tareen on Tuesday alleged that he was defeated in May 11 general elections under a well-planned conspiracy. Addressing a press conference along with PTI's Information Secretary Shireen Mazari here, Tareen said that he was leading by 40,000 votes by May 11 night, but the next morning he lost by over 10,000 votes under a plot.
"Our polling agents were forcefully dragged out of polling stations in NA-154, Londran," he said, terming the May 11 poll as returning officers' election. "At my request, vote recount is under way in my constituency. However, I will announce my next course of action after the recounting." On this occasion, Shireen Mazari said that blatant rigging was carried out in the election. She called for the Election Commission of Pakistan to take notice of the massive rigging.
