Naib Ameer Jamaat-i-Islami and senior minister-designate of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sirajul Haq has said that the newly-elected government would have to devise an effective strategy to stop killing of its innocent citizens in drone attacks.
Talking to media men at the residence of the PTI chief Imran Khan, after inquiring about his health, he said that terrorism and drone attacks were the greatest issue for the whole country, especially the KP, and its effect was being felt right from Karachi to Chitral.
The newly-elected government at the centre and in the KP would have to seek the solution of this issue while rising above party considerations, he added. Haq hoped that the PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif would pick up courage and take bold decisions in consultation with the opposition, for bringing normalcy and restore peace in the region.
About dialogue with the Taliban, he said that the blind use of force was resulting in large scale deaths. Therefore, the federal and KP governments besides the establishment would have to pave the way for dialogue. "This is not a matter of taking credit, it is purely humanitarian issue which should be solved at the earliest," he added.
To a question, he said that in his personal opinion it was in Pakistan's own interest to provide a safe exit to Nato forces, and asked "Why should we create hurdles if the enemy wants to vacate our home," he added. Sijarul Haq said that the JI had decided to join hands with the PTI accepting the mandate of the people in the province and for the solution of the people's problems. He said that denying this mandate was immoral and against political norms.
