Chairman Law and Order Sub Committee of Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), Nadeem Khan on Wednesday urged all the political parties to give up their differences and work jointly to bring country out of economic, law and order and energy crises.
Taking to newsmen, Nadeem said the trade and industry is facing serious crisis due to non-availability of gas and power. Forty percent higher cost of manufacturing than competitors in international market, fast deteriorating law and order conditions, high mark-up rates, ever-increasing oil prices, power and gas tariffs are the biggest challenges facing the country. The general pubic wants to know what political parties have in store to kick-start economic activity in the country. He advised political parties to give up politics of blame game, sit-ins, day on mourning and strike calls.
He said the country is facing serious economic crisis which need proper planning in consultation with all political parties and the business community's representatives to overcome these crises. Nadeem said the general pubic asks their representatives to do something about improving law and order, bring economic stability, generate job opportunities and increase investment to overcome gas and power shortage. He said Nawaz Sharif is yet to formulate clear-cut economic policies to arrest declining trends in almost all the sectors of economy.
He urged all the political parties to join hands and announce an 'industrial revival plan' without further delay. He suggested that a joint law and order committee comprising representatives of all the industrial associations of the city must be formed immediately.
