Punjab Ombudsman Javed Mahmood has simplified the procedure for filing and redressal of complaints by the public against the provincial government departments. Computerised process has been started at the Ombudsman office for the quick resolution of public complaints. Initially, computerised tracking number is being issued on every complaint.
It is learnt that for the convenience of complainants, the process of registration of complaints has been simplified and now any citizen having a computerised identity card can register or post his complaint to the Ombudsman Office Punjab on a plain paper.
Presiding over a meeting at Ombudsman Office, Javed Mehmood said that for the purpose of registration of complaints and keeping the complainant apprised of the progress of his case, a simple method has been adopted and now neither any affidavit will be required on stamp paper nor verification of the Oath Commissioner will be needed for registration or dispatching of the complaint. Similarly, a system has been introduced for informing the complainant by telephone about the receipt of his complaint and its computerised tracking number.
