A petition has been filed before the Lahore High Court seeking judicial inquiry in to schoolchildren van burning incident in Gujrat. A bar member Shahid Ikram Siddiqui stated that sub-standard cylinders had been playing havoc with the lives of innocent people but the government failed to take any action in this regard. He said dozens of people had been lost their lives in such incidents during the last year.
The lawyer said cylinder explosions in public transports were taking place due to defective cylinders and alteration in the mechanical system of the vehicles.
He said the concerned departments were guilty of negligence as they were not performing their duties in accordance with the law and checking the quality of cylinders and the vehicles as well.
