The Lahore High Court here on Wednesday postponed for fortnight the hearing of a petition challenging removal of Arif Hameed from office of managing director of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) by the caretaker government. The court also extended the stay against removal of Arif Hameed. The court earlier on May 15 had suspended the order of removing Arif Hameed from office of managing director SNGPL.
Arif Hameed had filed a petition challenging his removal by the interim government. The petitioner's counsel said the removal of the petitioner soon after the May 11 general election put several questions on the intention of the caretaker government and spoke volumes about the illegality involved in the action.
