The Chief Justice (CJ) Umar Ata Bandial of the Lahore High Court (LHC) directed all the District and Sessions Judges (D&SJs) to issue strict directions to the police for prompt submission of challan/police reports especially in acid attack, gang rape, kidnapping for ransom, police torture and encounters cases. The CJ passed these directions after examining the reports from the D&SJs in such cases.
The LHC complaint cell has taken cognisance of about 119 such cases in last 11 months. The concern of High Court has fetched fruitful response with the result of a fast-track disposal of 61 cases.
