THURSDAY MAY 30: June 2012 to January 2013: Nepra notifies raise in power tariff for KESC

ISLAMABAD: National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has notified increase in power tariff of eight months (from June 2012 to January 2013) under monthly fuel adjustment charges for the Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC). The impact of monthly fuel adjustment charges for June 2012 will be 17 paisa per unit; July 2012, 07 paisa; August 2012, 37 paisa; September 2012, 40 paisa; October 2012, 35 paisa; November 2012, 10 paisa; December 2012, two paisa and January 2013 Rs 1.13 per unit.
According to Nepra, the monthly increase/decrease in electricity price does not have any cumulative effect rather it will affect the consumer end electricity tariff only for a particular month under a separate head of Fuel Component Adjustment (FCA).
