Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah sought immediate report from Inspector General of Police about hand grenade attack in Lyari and other firing incidents in the city on Sunday. Expressing his deep grief and sorrow vis-à-vis the consequent killings and tension, the Chief Minister ordered the police and Rangers' officials to undertake action against the culprits without any distinction.
He ordered the law enforcers not to budge against any sort of pressure and to immediately arrest elements found involved in the criminal and terrorism- related activities. Syed Qaim Ali Shah in his directives to the IG Sindh Police said zero tolerance policy must be adopted against criminals and terrorists. A foolproof strategy has to be implemented to bring an end to lawlessness and restoring peace and tranquillity in Karachi, he said. The Chief Minister ordered the police authorities to increase the number of cops assigned to patrol the affected areas besides focussing on intelligence sharing so as to protect lives and property of the citizens.
