Business, Academia and Civil Society support empowering of women to participate fully in economic life in all sector and levels of economic activity as an essential initiative for establishing a stable and just society in Pakistan.
The Seven Principles of Women Empowerment under the theme "Equality Means Business" were launched by Global Compact Pakistan and Employers Federation of Pakistan in an impressive ceremony at the North Nazimabad campus of the Newports Institute, said a statement issued on Sunday.
Vice Chairman, House of Habibs Sohail Ahmed in his key note speech emphasised that instead of putting women in womanly jobs, business should be more family friendly for creating an environment in which women can freely think, operate and contribute to business growth and sustainability.
In his inaugural speech, President of the Steering Committee, Ahsanullah Khan said launching of the seven principles of women empowerment in Pakistan aimed to help private sector to focuses on key elements integral to promoting gender equality at the work place, market place and community.
