Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader, Khawaja Ahmad Hasan has said that metro bus projects would be started in Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Multan during current financial year for providing affordable and modern transport facilities to the people.
An amount of Rs 3 billion has been allocated in budget 2013-14 as subsidy for providing best public transport to the people, he said. The PML-N leader said that Punjab government's budget is reflective of public aspirations in which Rs 210 billion have been allocated for education and Rs 82 billion for health sectors. He termed the announcement of provision of missing facilities to government schools of the province during next two years as a historical step and said that the educational standard would enhance substantially in the province due to allocation of Rs 7.5 billion for this purpose.
He said that through the construction of six new Daanish schools, quality education will become available to the poor but talented students for far-flung areas. Ahmad Hasaan said that the decision for effective enforcement of agriculture income tax law on big landlords and the luxury tax on 2-kanal and big bungalows for the first time in the history of the country is a welcoming step. He said that the decision of issuing health cards to the less-privileged segments of the society for providing best treatment facilities also reflects the public priorities of Punjab government.
