During the grand recovery operation against defaulting builders Karachi Water & Sewerage Board Recovery team disconnecting water and sewerage connections confiscated motors of 4 plazas. These plazas are defaulted of more than 7 millions rupees collectively. KW&SB disconnected the line and confiscate motors despite retaliation from miscreants at one of the plazas.
KW&SB has been contacting builders and motivating them to acquire NOC and approval of their water and sewerage connections and payment of their outstanding dues. However, builders have been ignoring KW&SB attempts causing millions of rupees in revenue. Grand recovery operation is targeted at builders and projects with illegal connections and defaulters.
During the operation, 2 inch diametre connection to Burj-ul-Harmain NC-21 Sector 44 Scheme 33 defaulter of 761 thousand, 2 inch diameter connection to Shaiz Residency FL-14 Block 3-A Gulshan-e-Iqbal defaulter of 4.87 million, 1 inch diameter connection to Al-Minal Tower-1 Plot S-B 8, Block 3-A Gulistan-e-Jauhar defaulter of 222 thousand, and Al-Minal Tower-2 Plot S-B 10, Block 3-A Gulistan-e-Jauhar defaulter of 283 thousand were disconnected and motors were confiscated.
KW&SB team was harassed during operation at Al-Minal Tower but KW&SB team despite miscreants' retaliation disconnected the lines. Builders of these projects have been provided with the chance to regularise their connections and pay KW&SB bills to continue using KW&SB facilities.
In this regard, M.D KW&SB has requested citizens that before booking flat, bungalow or shop in residential and commercial projects they should confirm that the builder has acquired NOC and approval of connections from KW&SB to avoid any troubles later. He requested that the citizens must cooperate with KW&SB since it is a public service institution providing water supply and sewerage facilities to the citizens of Karachi therefore citizens and builders must pay their outstanding bills to help stabilise KW&SB.-PR
