A look into Pakistan’s food sciences with Food Technology Asia 2018

When it comes to food technology, Pakistan plays its part in the industry. Since a fair percentage of Pakistan’s economy is based on agriculture, a food technology exhibition was held in Karachi to demonstrate various food sciences dealing with production processes that make food.

Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd organized the most acclaimed event in food technology industry. The 12th Food Technology Asia 2018 international exhibition kicked off yesterday and will continue till April 12 at Karachi’s Expo Center.

The event sheds light on the country’s food tech and incorporates three main things - the 12th Rice Technology Asia International Exhibition, 12th Agri Tech Asia International Exhibition, and 12th Plastic, Packaging & Print Asia International.

Aiming to be a one-stop shop for all food industry products in agriculture, poultry, seafood, bakery, meat, drink, fishery and milk, this B2B Exhibition contained everything from processing technology to the finished products.

Pakistan’s food technology is no less than others, from manufacturing various types of machinery to processing food packages, the country has it all. Packing machines, food manufacturing machines, all kinds of house hygiene, plastic manufacturing, food processing products, chemical food engineering and production of pharmaceutical machinery were among the many stalls displayed at the exhibition.

The role of country’s import/export sector remained strong here as well. The tech and machinery are mostly imported from other countries, mainly China. The exportation of the products too plays a great role as Pakistan exports these tech goods to countries including UAE, Dubai, Iran etc.

Food products including rice, glucose, flour, grains are some of the primary ones highlighted in the country’s food tech, other products relating to pharmaceutics, plastic, farm vehicles and hygiene too help shape the country’s food tech.

The 12th Food Technology Asia 2018 is the country’s longest and largest running food show that constitutes the best products from all across the region. Bringing together food industry’s local and regional players, the event gave small and medium entrepreneurs exposure, skill and tech updates by exhibiting the latest global advancements in food technology. The exhibition proved to be a unique opportunity to check out what international and local industry has to offer.
