Abid Sher Ali, a close relative of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was elected from Faisalabad, a city crying for electricity and gas for its industry.
"I guess it will be a precedent that a State Minister has taken over the charge of office without taking oath from the President," commented an official of the Ministry. This correspondent met Abid Sher Ali at his office and asked on what basis he has taken over the office of Minister for State prior to taking oath. "I have been directed by the leadership to take charge as Minister of State and am sitting here without protocol."
