City District Government, Faisalabad, has approved annual budget for the year 2013-14 having total outlay of Rs 17,655.391 million. The budget was approved at a meeting held here on Friday under the chairmanship of Administrator City District Government and DCO Najam Ahmad Shah. All the Executive District Officers (EDO) participated in the meeting.
The CDG would derive own-source income of Rs 670 million while the Octroi Grant for the year will be Rs 843.408 million. The PFC Award (Development) will be Rs 434 million and PFC Award (Non-Development) will be Rs 14,065.436 million, while opening balance will be Rs 1642.547 million.
On the expenditure side, Rs 13544.223 million have been allocated towards staff salaries for the year 2013-14, while an amount of Rs 2445.638 million will be spent on non-salaries and an amount of Rs 758.775 million have been allocated for execution of on-going scheme while Rs 27.031 million have been earmarked for ongoing CCB Schemes. The Balance of Vertical grant (Development) will be Rs 517.023 million while Balance of Vertical Grant (Non-Development) will be Rs 3.154 million. The Balance of Sugarcane Development Cess Fund will be Rs 126.881 million whereas Rs 232.666 million have been allocated for New Annual Development Programme.
The meeting further decided to enhance 14 percent for purchase of medicines as compared to the last year. For this purpose 256 million rupees were allocated in the budget for 2013-14. Moreover, an amount of rupees 125 million have been provided for the dispensaries of the Zila Council for medicines.
In the livestock section, Rs 20 million rupees have been earmarked in the annual budget for treatment of livestock. Moreover, an amount of Rs 685 million have been allocated for the maintenance and repair of the existing official buildings and roads. An amount of Rs 167.70 million would be provided to the Schools Councils to smoothly run their affairs. Moreover, an amount of Rs 22 million have been earmarked for promotion of sports in the District while Rs 2.5 million will be spent on plantation.
In his address, DCO Najam Ahmad Shah said that development of the education and health sector in the district was our top priority and concrete measures would be taken to strength the social sector and urban development, under vision of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. He emphasised for revenue generation and directed the EDO's to pay special attention on recovery of the district government arrears including taxes and other dues.
