Punjab Election Commission on Saturday said the delimitation of constituencies for local government polls not comes into its domain and it is responsibility of the provincial government. Provincial Election Commissioner Mehboob Anwar talking to a private television channel said, the commission will hold polls whenever the government will make the local government law and ask the commission to hold elections.
According to reports Punjab government was considering a proposal to give responsibility of delimitation of constituencies to the provincial EC. Provincial Election Commissioner said the Election Commission has no constitutional role with regard to delimitation of constituencies.
