Punjab University will strictly follow the merit policy of the Higher Education Commission and PU Doctoral Program Co-ordination Committee regarding admission in their M. Phil programs. According to the spokesperson of the PU, a committee including dean of faculty and six senior PhD teachers had been formed at Institute of Communication Studies (ICS) to ensure transparent admissions.
It is pertinent to mention that as per M. Phil admission criteria, there are 40 marks for candidate's academic qualification, 40 for entry test, 10 for interview and 5 marks each for experience and publications. The basic eligibility criteria for admission are first division in MA/MSc and GAT General with at least 50 percent score. He said DPCC has provisionally allowed those M Phil and PhD candidates who are already scheduled to appear in NTS (GAT) test and their result is expected on August 26 and September 2 respectively. However, the spokesman said, the candidates were bound to submit their result of NTS on August 27 and September 03 respectively.
