Some influential persons have grabbed government lands worth billions of rupees allegedly in connivance with the Cantonment Board officials, while the law enforcing agencies did not start an inquiry into the matter even after receiving a complaint.
In an application submitted with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on June 04, retired mechanical engineer Malik Muhammad Ayub alleged that a fraudulent company had illegally occupied precious government land by preparing fake documents in connivance with the cantonment board officials. He said that 21 kanals 14 marla land in Harley Street of Tench Bhata, Rawalpindi Cantt gas factory's 21 kanals land on Kashmir Road and 11 kanals land of House number 34, Haider Road Rawalpindi Cantt had been illegally occupied by the fraudulent company.
The applicant further alleged that he had obtained attested documents of the land from the Land Revenue Department and sent them to the Land Engineer Cantonment Board and Executive Officer but they willingly presented bogus documents in the court and lost the case of Khasra No 731. The applicant claimed that he had the original documents of the lands and he was ready to present the documents as evidence. He appealed to the Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to take notice of the illegal occupation of the government land and to constitute an honest team to inquire into the matter.
