Federal Minister for Railways, Khwaja Saad Rafique called on the Jamaat-i-Islami Secretary General Liaqat Baloch, at his residence here on Monday and sought the support of the JI's Assembly members for the PML-N's presidential candidate. On the occasion, Liaqat Baloch apprised the Federal Minister of the JI concern over the deepening energy crisis, the rising prices and lawlessness and insecurity of the life and property of the people which had added to the problems of the people since the take-over by the new rulers.
He also conveyed to the minister the nation's sentiments over the government anxiety to befriend India at the cost of Kashmir which was sheer suicide. Liaqat Baloch also disapproved the government reaction over the convictions of senior JI leaders in Bangladesh, terming it an internal affair of that country. Saad Rafiq told the JI Secretary General that he would faithfully convey the JI sentiments to the PML-N leadership.
