Justice Mazhar Iqbal Sindhu of Lahore High Court ordered to release Chung police station in charge investigation Anwar Cheema after two hours arrest for telling lie about detaining four persons. The Judge took action during course of proceeding in petition seeking release of four persons Shaukat, Allah Ditta and two others. The petitioner alleged that Anwar Cheema had detained four persons, when no case was lodged against them.
He also alleged that the arrested persons were not produced before any court. The judge deputed a court bailiff who recovered detainees from custody of Anwar Cheema and produced them before court. Bailiff reported that that no case was lodged against these persons and they were kept by Anwar Cheema without any legal justification. On court query, Anwar Cheema could not give any justification on which the judge ordered to arrest Anwar Cheema and put handcuffs to him in the court. Anwar Cheema was kept in court custody and after two hours when he was produced before the judge, he tendered unconditional apology.
