Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Punjab President Ejaz Ahmad Chaudhry on Thursday said that PTI Chairman Imran Khan had never used any contemptuous language in any statement against the Supreme Court of Pakistan. He said the PTI respected the Constitution and law and order. "PTI went to election tribunal against rigging in the recent general elections, but did not get any response. Result of scrutiny showed that there were no thumb impressions found on the counter file in the constituency where PTI lost with 16,000 votes," he added.
PTI Punjab Secretary Information Andleeb Abbas said Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) failed in the presidential elections. She also said the PTI demanded from day one that recounting must be done through thumb impressions at least in four constituencies, which had not been considered so far.
"The PTI will always raise voice for democracy and justice. International and domestic media witnessed extreme rigging in the general elections. Statements of the PTI and other party leadership are on the record. Targeting a specific political party is unfair. It is the constitutional right of every citizen of Pakistan to raise voice for justice. The PTI stood side by side with lawyers and took part in movement of restoring judges," she added.
Meanwhile, PTI Punjab leaders Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry, Dr Yasmeen Rashid, Andleeb Abbas and Noor Hamd Khan Bhabha strongly condemned increase in price of electricity, CNG and petroleum products. They said public had lost all hopes and on the eve of Eid the government had dropped a new inflation bomb on the public. The PTI rejected this increase and would raise voice and agitate in and outside parliament, they added.
