Expressing concern over fragile security in Kurram Agency, members of Parachinar Reforms Committee have demanded that Pak Army should take control of Parachinar city by establishing a permanent military cantonment there. Speaking at a news conference here at the press club on Friday, Ahle-Sunnat Wal Jamaat spokesman and General Secretary of Parachinar Reforms Committee, Attaullah Khan said that security was continuously perplexing due to poor law and order situation over the past so many years in Kurram Agency.
He said the recent twin bomb blasts in the main markets of the Parachinar was glaring example of the poor security arrangement in the Agency. Flanked by Malik Nawab Khan, Haji Asadullah, Haji Marjan, and elders from the Agency, he further added that the mosque was worship place for Ahle-Sunnat Wal Jamaat, there was no need of deployment of Turi militia forces from the other sect. The committee members expressed fear that if the Shia sect was preparing any such plan for deployment of Turi militia at mosque, it would be dangerous for the mosque and we wouldn't accept that at any cost, they warned. They informed that military forces had already deployed for the protection of Ahle-Sunnat Wal Jamaat mosque.
"We are completely satisfied with security arrangement under the Pak Army at the mosque," Attaullah said. Owing to deployment of security forces, he informed that a number of subversive attacks had eliminated, aimed at targeting the mosque. He expressed the hope that the security forces would avert any such attacks in future. He demanded that the Pak Army should take control of Parachinar city. He opposed the redeployment of Turi militia, which were allegedly played unilateral role in sectarian clashes in the Kurram Agency and asked the political administration to not consider any such unrealistic demands of the Shia community.
