Punjab Bar Council has suspended licences of four lawyers namely Syed Jawad Raza, Sh. Muhammad Nadeem Anjum, Fayyaz Ali Butt and Malik Javed Sabir to practice as advocates. Lahore High Court had sent a reference to Punjab Bar Council for initiating action against them on account of their misconduct.
Disciplinary Committee of PBC comprised Malik Muhammad Akram Awan, Chairman and Mian Mazhar Hussain and Rana Ibrar Ahmad Khan as Members. The Committee on Tuesday proceeded against them exparte as they failed to appear before it and were applying delaying tactics. The quarters concerned have been intimated regarding suspension of their licenses accordingly.
LHC had taken notice of the complaint sent by Senior Civil Judge, Lahore, Chaudhry Farrukh Hussain against them for creating a scene in his court. As per complaint, on 15.07.2013 the said advocates appeared before the complainant and without any reason Syed Jawad Raza advocate started shouting why did he pass order against them? They were asked to maintain decorum of the court but Syed Jawad Raza advocate started abusing him, used filthy and uncivilised language, extended threats and said that he would teach a lesson to the judge. As per complaint, the advocate also used abused language against the worthy District & Sessions Judge and the Lahore High Court. After that he alongwith Sh. Muhammad Nadeem and Malik Javed Sabir assaulted and used criminal force against Senior Civil Judge.
They caused damage to the public property. They also abused his father, forefathers and stated that no court could dare to pass any order against them. The act of Syed Jawad Raza advocate alongwith others is against the law and amounts to misconduct for abusing, using filthy and contemptuous language which created sense of insecurity and fear in the litigants present in the court, the complaint adds.
According to details, a petition titled Muhammad Shafiq Hanif vs Ruby Hayat Awan Advocate was filed in the court of Saqib Farooq Awan, Guardian Judge-III. Due to exchange of harsh words on the side of the respondent Ruby Hayat Awan Advocate, Judge sent the file to District & Sessions Judge which was entrusted to Amir Shahzad, Guardian Judge-IV. Respondent filed a transfer application before District & Sessions Judge and consequently the case was withdrawn from the court of Amir Shahzad and entrusted to the court of Guardian Judge-I.
Guardian Judge-I sent the file to District & Sessions Judge for transfer of the same to another court, therefore, the case was entrusted to the court of Senior Civil Judge. On 11.07.2013 both the counsel for the parties appeared before the court and directed the respondent to produce the minor before the court at 12.00 noon on 15.07.2013 in compliance with order of Lahore High Court.
