A cargo volume of 61,581 tonnes comprising 46,768 tonnes of import cargo and 14,813 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 1,323 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 46,768 tonnes includes 1,587 tonnes of fertiliser; 25,362 tonnes of furnace oil; 7,867 tonnes of chemicals and 11,952 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 14,813 tonnes includes 2,951 tonnes of cement and 11,862 tonnes of containerised cargo. There is one ship namely MT Global Peace sailed out to sea during the last 24 hours, while four ships namely CV MSC Clementina, MV Capital, MV Ionic Spirit and MT Karachi sailed out to sea on Saturday morning.
A total number of eleven vessels viz CV MSC Clementina, MV Gulf Oasis, MV Capital, MT Semua Perdana, MT Pacific Sun, MV Lady Amna, MT Global Peace, MT Karachi, MV Ionic Spirit, MV Dong Hai Jun 7001 and MV KPS-1 Alican Bey are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, palm oil, fertiliser, chemicals, dredger and power ship respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as five ships namely MSC Kerry, Anna Maria, Contila Pislazuli, ILC Friendship and Thor Harmony with containers, wheat and fertiliser are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. There were two vessels with containers and chemicals took berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Friday. There are three ships namely CV MSC Kerry, MV Contila Pislazuli and MT Genuine Hercules with containers, wheat and palm oil due to arrive on Saturday as per arrival schedule.
