Day and night temperature has moderately fallen in most parts of the country after mid-October scattered rains turning the weather pleasant and reducing the electricity demand for air-conditioners and coolers. According to the Meteorological department, a fresh westerly wave approached upper parts of the country during the weekend generating rains and gusty winds in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, North Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir from Saturday to Sunday.
Maximum temperature in the country, 38.2 degree Celsius, was recorded at Chhor and minimum temperature, 5.0 C, was recorded at Kalat. The highest temperature in Punjab, 35.6 C, was recorded in Rahim Yar Khan and minimum 18.5 C was recorded in Jhang and Noorpur Thal.
Weather remained dry in most parts of the country, on Sunday, however isolated post monsoon rain/thunderstorm occurred in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
The rice growing areas (Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad & Sahiwal Divisions) received scattered rains accompanied by gusty winds during Friday to Sunday.

Weather forecast for today (Monday): Met office said scattered thunderstorm /rain associated with gusty winds is expected over Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Hazara, Mardan, Kohat, Peshawar, Malakand divisions, Bajaur, Mehmand, Khyber, Kurrum Agencies, Islamabad, Kashmir & Gilgit Baltistan. Isolated thunderstorm/rain with strong winds is likely to occur over Lahore, Faisalabad, Kalat, Karachi, Mirpur Khas, Sukkur, Quetta & Zhob divisions today (Monday).
Irsa further reduces water outflows from dams. Meanwhile, Punjab Irrigation engineers told Business Recorder that after the recent scattered rains in the vast rice growing areas, the Indus River System Authority (Irsa) had further reduced water outflow from Mangla and Tarbela dams. "It is releasing 60,000 cusecs run of the Indus water from Tarbela dam and 35,000 cusecs of water from the Mangla dam," they added.
