Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, on Friday has approved the extension in delimitation period till one week. Qaim Ali Shah has given approval to the related authorities to make extension in delimitation as now it is considered as second delay in the process.
Shah directed the deputy commissioners across the province to complete legal work related to delimitation till October 25. Earlier, the Sindh government had decided to start delimitation process of constituencies at union council and tehsil levels across the province on September 26 in order to complete homework for holding local bodies' election on November 27.
However, the provincial government failed in initiating the process even on September 28 as the formal notification was not released earlier which created confusion for the relevant authorities, reports said. According to the Sindh government plans, the entire process has to be completed within 28 days as the delimitation completed the next two weeks were scheduled for countering objections. After delimitation, the next two weeks will be fixed for hearing any objections and deciding on them. The entire process will take around 28 days.
