Especially constituted select committee on Local Government Bill 2013 reviewed the draft legislation and stressed the establishment of an effective local government system through consultations. The meeting of the select committee was held at Conference Room of Provincial Assembly on Wednesday with its Chairman and Provincial Minister for Local Government Inayatullah Khan in the chair.
Those who attended included MPAs Syed Jaffar Shah, Syed Muhammad Ali Shah, Sardar Hussain Babak, Mst Amina Sardar, Gohar Ali Shah and Arbab Akbar Hayat. They also informed the meeting in detail about the demarcation of union councils, village councils and villages of far-flung and hilly areas.
Addressing the meeting, chairman of the select committee Inayatullah Khan said all powers were being devolved to the grassroots level according to the wishes of the people so that the general public could get basic facilities like education, health and other civic amenities at their doorstep and all resources could be used for the schemes aimed at benefiting and easing lives of people.
