Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, said until and unless the US withdraws from the region, neither terrorism would come to an end nor peace would prevail here. Talking to the media after addressing a gathering of JI workers at Gujranwala on Friday, he said the US is responsible for terrorism as it is involved in the massacre of the Muslims all over the world.
The JI Ameer deplored that the Pakistan government is an ally of the US and an opponent of the Pakistani nation. He, however, warned if the government did not stop the Nato supplies, it won't be able to continue the supplies either. The nation could not allow the supply of arms and food to its killers, he added. He said that stopping the Nato supplies is the domain of the Federal Government. However, if the Khyber-P government disrupts the supplies, the Federal Government should support the move. The centre should make amends for its conduct in the past and find out a way for bringing back the Taliban on the negotiation table.
Syed Munawar Hasan said the nation deeply hated the US and its slaves and it wanted the rulers to protect their life and property and also play their role in saving them from American terrorists. In reply to a question, the JI Ameer said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had not taken the nation into confidence about his agenda for the US visit before proceeding to Washington nor had he informed the nation on his return how far his visit had been successful. Even at his joint press conference with US President Obama, the Prime Minister did not say any thing as could show that he had lodged protest over drone attacks, or talked of Dr Aafia Siddiqui' release or sought US help for solving the Kashmir issue.
To a question about the Karachi situation, Syed Munawar Hasan said the Federal Interior Minister is claiming that target killings and lawlessness have been controlled to a great extent. However, about a dozen and a half people were gunned down in the port city a coupe of days ago which belied the official claim.
