An awareness seminar on US scholarships and cultural exchange programme for the students and faculty members was held at Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) on Friday. The event was organised by US Consulate Karachi in collaboration with United States Educational Foundation Pakistan.
During the event, Saif Jiskani, Education and Youth Outreach Advisor briefed the participants regarding the objectives of the scholarship. In his speech, he provided information about US cultural exchanges and scholarships programmes. Hassan Nasir, Education Advisor at USEFP provided information regarding higher education in the US including scholarship programmes such as Fulbright and Global Undergraduate exchange programme.
Phillip Assis cultural Attaché US Consulate Karachi briefed the students and faculty via Skype/online about educational support that the US mission Pakistan has been providing to the Pakistani students and academia. He also imparted information to the participants regarding the co-operation extend by US consulate general in the field of Building Education Standard, Community Mobilisation, Teacher Education and promoting higher education through outreach programme in Sindh province. He emphasised the participants of the seminar to get support for their career development through Fulbright scholarships.
