The Lahore High Court on Monday sought reply from Punjab government by December 03 in a petition challenging compulsory deduction of one-day salary of the government employees for Relief Fund to rehabilitate earthquake victims. The petitioner Javed Iqbal Jaffrey submitted that no law allowed the government to deduct salary of its employees even for any noble cause. He said the government acted illegally by deducting one-day salary of the employees for fund.
The petitioner therefore prayed to the court to set aside the impugned act of the government.
