Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has expressed sorrow and grief over the loss of lives in an incident of violence in district Kohat. In a statement on Monday, the Chief Minister appealed to general public to stay peaceful, keep close eyes on miscreants and cooperate with the law enforcing agencies to maintain law and order in the area.
He also appealed to Ulema to play their role in cooling down the situation. Khattak regretted the killing of police personnel and a civilian and said that the country, specially the KP province, was already suffering from deteriorating law and order situation and the law enforcing agencies as well as the civilians had suffered heavy losses. "We can't afford riots and violence any more," he added. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister has directed the administration and law enforcement bodies to take all necessary measures to control the situation and protect the lives and properties of people.
