Former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister and Qaumi Watan Party General Secretary Bakht Baidar Khan on Monday filed damage suit of Rs 1 billion against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan for levelling corruption allegations against him. The damage notice was filed through Barrister Babar Ali, stating that Imran Khan had levelled baseless allegations against him and damaged his political reputation.
The sacked KP minister stated that due to his honesty, he won his seat of the Provincial Assembly and on the basis of his character he was rewarded this ministry but by levelling false allegations, the PTI chairman had damaged his political career. He added that Imran Khan had no authority to sack any minister of the provincial cabinet. He further said that he had answered the questions regarding the performance of his department and no proofs of corruption were found against him.
Bakht Baider added that there was no compensation for dishonouring someone but he had filed a suit of one billion rupees against PTI chief Imran Khan to restore his prestige. It is pertinent to mentioning here that QWP General Secretary Bakht Baidar Khan was dropped by Chief Minister Parvez Khattat from provincial cabinet upon the directives of PTI chairman Imran Khan for the charges of corruption. Later, Chief Minister Parvez Khattak also abolished an alliance with the Qaumi Watan Party. After sacking two ministers of the QWP, Senior Minister Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao also resigned in protest against the decision of the KP chief Minister.
