Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry SCCI has expressed concern over low pressure in gas supply to industrial units in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. "KP industries are closing down due to low pressure in gas supply by Sui-Northern Gas Pipeline Limited, while the full pressure was not also supplied to domestic consumers,' said SCCI President, Zahidullah Shinwari, in a press release issued here on Sunday. He said that the step was violation of Peshawar High court decision regarding the low pressure to industrial and domestic consumers.
Shinwari further added the SNGPL was violating Article 158 of the constitution. He informed that the chamber and business community had filed a writ petition in Peshawar High Court, on which the court had order to exempt industries from gas load shedding. He, however, said the SNGPL now supplying low pressure gas to industrial units in KP in violation of the court verdict.
