Amid sexual harassment row, Meesha Shafi reportedly 'leaving' Pakistan
After accusing Pakistani pop star Ali Zafar of sexual harassment last month, Meesha Shafi is reportedly fleeing to Canada along with her husband and two children. The news has been circulating over social media since few days.
Following the complaint of sexual harassment of which Meesha has been a target of multiple times, the singer took down her official Instagram account last week while also removing herself from Facebook earlier this week as well. This has sparked speculations whether her accusations against Ali were based on lies or truth.

However, according to Express Tribune, Meesha’s legal representative Nighat Dad has put the circulating rumors to rest, confirming that the singer is not relocating, as Dad called the news false.
As part of the global #MeToo movement, the accusations by Shafi, led to division in the Pakistani media industry. Some known names spoke in favor of Meesha and appreciated her for speaking up and some colleagues supported Ali with words about him being ‘decent’ and ‘professional’.
Meesha is currently active over her official Twitter account.
