Lord Nazir Ahmed, the member of British House of Lords, called on Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Saturday. Matters relating to overseas Pakistanis with particular reference to the Pakistani community in the UK came under discussion.
In order to facilitate overseas Pakistanis and addressing the problems which they face while coming to Pakistan, the Minister of Interior, on the request of Lord Nazir directed FIA to set up a special cell, which will look into all problems being faced by them while on a visit or stay in Pakistan.
Minister directed the immigration authorities to have a traveller friendly attitude towards all visitors and do everything to make their entry into and exit out of Pakistan as trouble free as possible. Lord Nazir also briefed the Minister on the problems being faced by the overseas Pakistanis in the UK and sought his help in addressing them. Chaudhry Nisar said the government, particularly the Ministry of Interior, is committed to cut red tape and come down hard on all kinds of corruption and nepotism and to ensure that all departments facilitate the public especially the overseas Pakistanis who are on a short visit to their homeland.
