The download platform Google Play remembers every smartphone with which a user has ever logged in. This is useful because owners of multiple devices can download apps specifically targeted for either mobiles or tablets. However, the list may also contain old and outdated devices.
Users can make these disappear, German magazine Android Welt says.
To do this they need to open the settings in Google Play by clicking on the gear-wheel icon. Old smartphones and tablets can't actually be deleted but they can be hidden by clicking the checkmark in the "Presence" column. By selecting "Edit," devices can also be given names which makes it easier to find them when downloading apps.
