Solid waste management system being introduced in big cities: Shahbaz meets Al-Bayrak Group chairman
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that after successful experiment of solid waste management in the provincial metropolis, this modern system of cleanliness is being introduced in five big cities of Punjab including Faisalabad, Multan, Gujranwala, Sialkot and Rawalpindi.
He said that a number of projects are running successfully in Lahore and various cities of the province with the co-operation of Turkey. He said that Metro bus project is a glorious example of Pak-Turk friendship. He said that the historical fraternal relations between Pakistan and Turkey have turned into useful economic ties and trade and economic relations between the two countries would further strengthen in future.
He was talking to a delegation led by Chairman Board of Directors of Al-Bayrak Group of Companies Ahmat Al-Bayrak who met him, here on Wednesday. Cooperation in energy, solid waste management and other sectors was discussed in the meeting.
He said that government has started a number of welfare projects for the common man and Metro bus project is a shining example of the best utilisation of public funds to facilitate the masses. He said that Al-Bayrak Group should consider promotion of co-operation in energy and other sectors and assured that investment by Turk investors would be welcomed.
Chairman Al-Bayrak Group Ahmat Al-Bayrak said that his group would promote co-operation with Punjab in various sectors. Describing Metro bus project as a masterpiece, he said that completion of this project within a short period of time is a big achievement of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
The delegation included former Director General Energy and Privatisation of Turkey Hasan Koktas, former Minister for Environment and Forests Osman Pepe, Managing Director Al-Bayrak Waste Management Bahri Tursakoz and Binyamin Karaka whereas Chairman Lahore Transport Company Kh. Ahmad Hasaan, Addl. Chief Secretary Energy, Secretary Local Government and Managing Director Lahore Management Company were also present on the occasion.
