One policeman was killed when suspected militants attacked a polio team in Loralai district on Thursday. According to police sources, unidentified armed men on motorcycle opened fire on a polio team in Nasirabad area of Loralai, killing policeman, guarding the polio team workers, on the spot. Police official said that the militants sped away on their motorcycle after the attack.
The polio team was engaged in an anti-polio drive in Loralai Bazaar when it came under attack by the suspected militants. Police and Levies personnel reached the spot and started an investigation of the incident. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
