The Lahore High Court here on Monday disposed of a petition filed by a citizen against acquisition of his land for Metro Bus System (MBS) track without payment of compensation while Commissioner Lahore told the court that the petitioner had already sold it out.
Zameer Hussain contended that the government acquired his land measuring 19 marlas at Qartaba Chowk, Mozang to construct MBS bridge-track. He alleged that the government had not issued him any prior notice before acquiring his land and also not issued required notifications. He said the government had not paid him the compensation against acquisition of his land despite the lapse of one and a half years. Petitioner asked the court to direct the government to issue notifications required for acquisition of his land and payment of the compensation with eight percent compound mark-up.
