DCO Noorul Amin Mengal has ordered to register a case against persons showing negligence in removing the dengue larva breeding from any public or private premises. He was presiding over a meeting to review the pace of implementation on anti-dengue measures. Provincial Co-ordinator for Dengue Control Programme Dr Waseem Akram also participated in the meeting.
The DCO said the owners should be held responsible in case of findings garbage, debris and stagnant water in and around the industrial units, factories, commercial buildings and other institutions and legal action must be taken against them to avoid the dengue issue.
He said the dengue issue could only be controlled by raising the awareness among public against dengue by using all out resources. He said the informative banners should be displayed on the main gates of public and private educational institutions, industries, transport stands, public parks, markets and other public places.
The DCO said that meeting of Town Emergency Response Committees should be held on alternate days to discuss the task and target and reviewing the performance and achievements. Provincial Coordinator Dr Waseem Akram informed the meeting about the use of medicines against the dengue larva and asked the health department officials to compile the data of suspect's dengue patients.
Later the Provincial Coordinator visited the District Dengue Control Room being functioning at DCO Office. He was reviewing the process of the monitoring of anti-dengue measures. He appreciated the co-ordinated efforts being mobilised for controlling dengue problems. DCO Noorul Amin Mengal informed that daily activity report was being obtained from the department concerned to review the permanence.
