A Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) worker was killed and five others injured when police and supporters of accused arrested on the charge of power theft clashed near Wapda Colony here on Thursday. According to details, the police with the help of Pesco raiding team apprehended some accused on charges of stealing electricity through direct hooks in Bannu and brought them to Wapda Colony.
The enraged supporters of the accused came to Wapda Colony and demanded release of their relatives. Later on, they turned violent and resorted to aerial firing. In order to disperse the protestors, police retaliated to the firing, police said. As a result of cross firing, a PTI worker Mehar Din died on the spot while five others including policeman Zainullah sustained injuries.
