Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan has said that promotion of education in Federal Administered Tribal Areas is the top most priority of our government and bright future for the country can only be ensured by providing modern education facilities to the young generation.
He directed the authorities concerned to take concrete measures for the provision of modern education facilities in all existing schools of FATA availing English medium of instructions and to make this possible adequate arrangements are in progress both in respect of capacity building of respective teaching staff and development of teaching facilities.
He expressed these views while presiding over a high-level meeting of department of Education FATA here at Governor's House on Friday. A detailed briefing was also given to the governor from the officials of FATA secretariat. Besides, Additional Chief Secretary FATA, Arbab Muhammad Arif, Principal Secretary to Governor, Dr Muhammad Fakhre Alam, Secretary AI and C FATA, Muhammad Abid Majeed and other relevant officials also attended the meeting.
He directed the officials of FATA secretariat to take all possible steps to improve the working and efficiency of FATA education foundation and said there is a need to pay due attention to the teachers' training programme for the capacity-building of teachers in the interest of proper education and training of young generation while a system should also be devised for the encouragement of teachers in FATA on the basis of their efficiency and added that that promotion of quality education is vital for ensuring the socio-economic development of any country. He said that to improve the monitoring and efficiency of all ongoing social programs in FATA should be run under one umbrella.
He said that education was an effective weapon for overcoming problems and poverty. He said that no negligence and laxity will be tolerated in the programmes of promotion of education. He directed that the concerned officials should work hard for furthering the projects speedily.
Governor said that our youth is the asset of our Nation and urged the officials concerned to devote their efforts and resources to the noble cause of imparting quality education to the young generation in line with modern trends in FATA.
