At least 12 people were killed and 13 others injured when a truck loaded with woods fell down on a van near Machiwal in District Vehari. A spokesman of Vehari Police said that the ill-fated van was on the way from Burewala to Vehari when the driver of wood loaded truck lost control on it.
He said that all the injured passengers have been admitted in District Headquarters Hospital Vehari. According to DPO Vehari Sardar Sadiq Ali, the truck loaded with woods fell down on the van which was overtaking it and killing at least 12 people including three children and two women. A large number of locals and rescue teams rushed to the scene and shifted the wounded to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital (THQ) Burewala. Medical Superintendent of Tehsil Head Quarter Hospital Dr Muhammad Akram confirmed the death of 12 people. The Rescue officer also said that we have shifted 12 bodies to THQ hospital and 15 injured, of them 11 were hospitalised.
