The central leadership of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has finally contacted the enraged party leaders in Sindh province by inviting them to Islamabad to address their reservations. According to party insiders, Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has invited the party's parliamentary leader in Sindh Assembly Irfanullah Khan Marwat along with other party members from the province for a meeting today (Tuesday).
The sources said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has asked Shahbaz Sharif to reach out to PML-N Sindh chapter leadership. They further said upon the conclusion of his India's visit, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would also invite Irfanullah Marwat and other party leaders from Sindh to address their reservations.
Marwat has recently expressed serious displeasure at Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif 'ignoring' the party's Sindh leadership during his visit to Karachi, and warned that the party's MPAs would either sit on the treasury benches or sit as independent candidates in the provincial assembly if their reservations were not addressed. The sources said that Marwat was about to announce his future course of action on Saturday last but he was conveyed that the central leadership was busy in preparation of the Prime Minister's India visit and upon his return from India, the Prime Minister wants to listen to all the concerns.
Many PML-N leaders from Sindh province have also expressed displeasure over the alleged indifferent attitude of the central leadership. Last year, more than 200 office-bearers at the district and tehsil levels tendered resignations after their provincial president Syed Ghous Ali Shah quit the party on what he felt sidelined by the central leadership.
