Strict security for Juma prayers in Lahore before chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain
LAHORE: Strict security arrangements have been made for Juma prayers on Friday ahead of the chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) on Sunday. All entry and exit points of the city will be covered and rooftop deployment made during Juma gatherings.
Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ahmad Raza Tahir directed that parking be made at a safe distance, preferably 200 metre, from the venue of processions, Urs, whereas mobile squads, motorbikes and cars of Elite Force would also be deployed.
He said that crises management centers had been established in the city which would function round the clock while a special control room was set up in the office of CCPO for coordination between various agencies.
The CCPO said that more than 5,000 police officials would provide security on the chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) on Sunday.
He said that CCTV cameras would be installed at big markets and important roads of Lahore to ensure law and order whereas a daily review of the crime situation strategy was evolved by Lahore police so that effective steps could be taken to eradicate crime from the city.
