The Meteorological Department has predicted that the first pre-monsoon showers will take place during next 24-hour. In a special weather advisory, it said the prevailing intense heat is likely to subside after pre-monsoon rain/thundershowers accompanied by dust-storms over Islamabad, Upper Punjab, Upper KP & Kashmir on Monday/Tuesday.
It said that most parts of the country including Islamabad, Hazara, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sargodha divisions and Kashmir will receive first pre-monsoon showers during the next 24 hours.
Pre-monsoon rain accompanied by dust-storms is likely in Islamabad, upper Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir on Monday and Tuesday. Meanwhile weather remained very hot and dry in most parts of the country on Sunday.
The hottest places in the country were Dalbandin, Bhakkar, N PThal 47°C, Dadu, Bannu 46°C, Risalpur, Sibbi, D IKhan, Kohat & Sh Benazirabad 45°C
Country wide forecast for today:
Mainly very hot and dry weather is expected over most parts of the country, today (Monday) however, dust-thunderstorm-rain is expected at isolated places in Lower Sindh and Kashmir during evening/night. Isolated dust thunderstorm/rain is also expected over Malakand, Rawalpindi, Kalat, Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpur Khas divisions and Islamabad.
Country-wide further outlook for subsequent 72-hour:
Scattered dust thunderstorm/rain is expected over Kohat, Peshawar, Malakand, Mardan, Hazara, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore, Faisalabad divisions, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan.
