A writ petition was filed in Supreme Court on Tuesday, seeking placement of former President and army chief Pervez Musharraf's name on Exist Control List (ECL). Taufiq Asif through his counsel Hamid Khan filed a petition, challenging the short order passed by Sindh High Court (SHC) on June 6, 2014 that ordered removal of Musharraf's name from ECL after 15 days.
The petitioner prayed the apex court to set aside the order passed by SHC with a directive to place his name on ECL once again so that he could not leave the country. The petitioner made Pervez Musharraf, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and Director FIA Karachi, Additional Director FIA immigration Karachi Airport and Advocate Moulvi Iqbal Haider as respondents in the petition. The petitioner contended that the impugned judgement is void, without jurisdiction against the facts, law and the constitution and the same is liable to be set aside in the interest of justice.
